Freshman - Coaches

Dan Cota - Head Coach
Dan begins his thirtteenth season as Head Freshman coach. He also served 4 years as a J.V. assistant. His 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2002, 2003 and 2004 Freshman teams won the Foothill League title. After graduating from Saugus High in 1980, Dan played wide receiver at C.O.C. and C.S.U.N. Dan graduated from C.S.U.N. with a degree in Physical Education and received his Masters at Azusa Pacific. Dan teaches P.E. at Placerita Jr. High School. Dan and his wife Heidi live in Valencia.

Don Cruikshank - Assistant Coach
Don begins his twelveth year of coaching at Hart. Previously, he had been involved in coaching youth sports for twelve years. He played football at Alemany High School. His son Robbie played on the 1995 Hart Indians CIF Championship team and his daughter Stacie was a Varsity cheerleader. Don lives in Newhall with his wife, Denise, a Hart graduate.

Rich Sears - Assistant Coach
Rich begins his eleventh year of coaching at Hart. He will be coaching the offensive and defensive lines. He played football at Saugus High and Antelope Valley College. Rich lives in Stevenson Ranch with girlfriend, Jennifer and daughter Megan. Rich is also an avid weight lifter and personal trainer at the Athletic Club.

Art Heirshberg - Assistant Coach
Art enters his fourth year on the Hart coaching staff. He has previously coached at Canyon and Saugus High Schools. He has coached his sons Santa Clarita Warriors team the last three years. Art teaches physical education at La Mesa Jr. High. He has a B.A. from U.S.C. and a masters degree from Azusa Pacific. Art lives in Valencia with his son, Steven, who is on the JV team and daughter, Wendy, who is a manager in the Hart Football Program.

Jamie Kaminski - Assistant Coach
Coach Kaminski begins is second year on the Hart coaching staff. He will be working with the frosh wide receivers and defensive backs. Jamie graduated from St. Genevieve High School and then went to Pierce College. He later played minor league baseball for the San Diego Padres. He has coached youth sports for eleven years, including three seasons of senior division youth football. Jamie and his wife, April, a Hart graduate, live in Newhall with sons Kyle and Matt, who is on the   Hart JV football program, and duaghter Ashley, a Hart cheerleader.
